Why We Exist

Whether you're leading a school or holding space in a classroom, you’ve likely been praised for your strength while never being offered a place to rest.

At Tended, we believe emotional honesty is a form of resistance.

In DC alone, teachers have shared how isolating it feels to grieve students while being expected to smile and perform.

There’s an unspoken rule:

Don’t talk about the hard stuff.
Don’t show weakness.

We break that rule.

Tended Collective exists to create spaces—individual and collective—where educators can tell the truth about their experiences and be held with care.

What We Do

Tended Collective is an educator well-being organization dedicated to creating spaces where emotional honesty, reflection, and collective care are possible.

Our work centers K–12 educators and school communities through healing circles, facilitated conversations, and reflective tools that support sustainable care.

Our Work in Practice

The Let It Out Journal is one entry point into this work. Created for educators by an educator, it offers guided reflection prompts that were created based on the realities of teaching and school leadership in mind. The Let It Out Journal offers intentional prompts that help educators process stress, grief, overwhelm, and emotional fatigue in a private, judgment-free space. This is not about productivity or performance—it’s about creating room to breathe, reflect, and let go.

Whether used independently or as part of a school-wide wellness initiative, the Let It Out Journal supports mental and emotional health while honoring educators’ time, autonomy, and humanity. It’s a simple, powerful way to invest in the people who give so much of themselves every day.

  • The Let It Out Journal is a 36-week guided reflection journey designed to support emotional well-being, boundaries, rest, and self-trust.

    • Guided weekly themes focused on peace, dignity, resilience, rest, and personal growth

    • Weekly self-care intentions to set the tone, name needs, and protect well-being

    • Daily reflection prompts that invite honest emotional release

    • Flexible space to write, draw, doodle, or process freely

    • Retrospective and notes sections to reflect and look back

This is not about productivity or fixing yourself. It’s about having somewhere to put what you’re carrying.

It’s like therapy in a book—without the appointment.
